My Story

Hello, I'm Naomi Brown, a BACP Accredited Integrative Counsellor with an MSc in Counselling. I offer a warm, compassionate, and inclusive space where individuals can explore their experiences, navigate life's challenges, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.

My journey into counselling has been shaped by a genuine curiosity about people, relationships, and the experiences that influence who we become. With an undergraduate degree in Sociology, I developed an interest in how our social environments, cultural backgrounds, and lived experiences shape our identities, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. This curiosity eventually led me towards a career in psychotherapy.

During my Master's degree, my research explored the experiences of Black counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK. This deepened my awareness of the importance of representation, cultural identity, and the ways in which wider social experiences can influence both personal wellbeing and the therapeutic relationship. It continues to inform my commitment to providing an inclusive, culturally sensitive, and non-judgemental space where each person feels respected, understood, and valued.

Throughout my career, I have gained experience working with adults and young people across private practice, community mental health, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), and specialist services. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation that no two people's journeys are the same, and that therapy should reflect the individual rather than follow a one-size-fits-all approach.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural (CBT), and solution-focused approaches. My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely heard and understood. I aim to build a trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship where you can explore your experiences at your own pace, recognise patterns, discover your strengths, and find ways forward that feel right for you.

Beyond my professional life, I value adventure, creativity, and personal growth. I enjoy travelling, discovering new perspectives, and embracing experiences that encourage me to step outside my comfort zone. These interests remind me of the value of curiosity, openness, and the different ways we can continue to learn about ourselves and the world around us.

I recognise that reaching out for support can feel like a significant step. Whether you're navigating a difficult period, seeking greater self-understanding, or simply wanting space to reflect, my hope is to offer a therapeutic environment where you feel comfortable being yourself.

Wherever you are in your journey, you deserve a space where your experiences matter and your voice is heard.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to the possibility of working together.
